ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - The Lewis University men's basketball team scored the final five points of the contest against Indianapolis to beat the Greyhounds 82-81 in overtime Saturday (Jan. 27) at Neil Carey Arena.

SUMMARY
Indianapolis scored the first five points of the game, but the Flyers came back with the next eight points. After a Greyhound three-pointer to tie the game, Lewis reeled off 11 straight points to lead 19-8 as Warden hit a pair of three-pointers during the stretch.
The two teams went back-and-forth for the remainder of the first half with the Greyhounds getting no closer than five points the rest of the half as the Flyers led 37-28 at the half.
Lewis built its lead back to 11 on a Warden jumper at the 17:11 mark to make it 41-30 before Indianapolis made its run. The Greyhounds outscored the Flyers 19-9 to cut the deficit to 50-49 with 9:31 remaining.

Ryan Renfro (Glen Ellyn, Ill./U.S. Military Prep) basket stopped the run and a Warden three-pointer put the Flyers up 55-49. Multiple times the Greyhounds cut the deficit to one point, but they finally evened the score at 67-67 with 2:07 left.
A jumper put the Greyhounds ahead for the first time in the second half, but a Renfro dunk with 48 seconds left evened the score at 69-69. Indianapolis missed on two shots to take the lead and a Lewis three-pointer was off the mark, sending the game into overtime.
Indianapolis scored the first four points of overtime before four Lewis free throws tied the score at 73-73 midway through the overtime period. A dunk with 37 seconds left gave the Greyhounds a 78-73 advantage.
The two teams traded free throws before a Stroud three-pointer made it 79-77 with 10 seconds left. The Greyhounds converted a pair of free throws with eight seconds left to make it a two possession game at 81-77.
