SUMMARY
Neither side could gain any advantage early, as the score was tied at 1, 4, 6, 8 and 10. Missouri S&T gained an advantage at 17-13, but Lewis erased it with a 9-0 run to take the lead as four different Flyers scored in the surge.

Lewis kept charging, using a 7-1 push to put the lead at 29-20 after a three-point play by Solomon. The Miners immediately pushed back with a 6-0 run of its own.

Later in the first half, the Flyers stretched the lead to double digits with a 9-0 run, holding S&T to 0-4 shooting with a turnover during the stretch. Lewis carried a 44-33 lead into halftime, with advantages in shooting percentage (.472 to .385), rebounds (24 to 15) and bench points (16 to 3).

The Flyers pushed the lead up to 15 points early in the second half, but the Miners fought back with a 10-4 surge to get back to within nine at 54-45. Lewis slowly and steadily built the lead back up from that point, not allowing Missouri S&T to get any closer the rest of the game.
