FAYETTE, Iowa – The Lewis University men's basketball team suffered a road setback by the hands of Upper Iowa, 80-70, Saturday (Jan. 6).

SUMMARY
Upper Iowa started the game with back-to-back baskets before Vanderheydt knocked down a triple. The Peacocks scored the next bucket before Lewis scored seven straight points, four from Renfro and three by Solomon which made it 10-6 Flyers.
Lewis held onto a lead for a majority of the first half leading as much as five (26-21) after a basket from Anderson with six minutes to play. Moments later, Warden knocked down a three-pointer to give Lewis a 33-29 lead with 3:20 to go until the break.
UIU closed out the first half with the last eight points of the opening 20 minutes to take a 37-33 lead at the break.
The Peacocks opened the second half with back-to-back layups to extend its lead out to 41-33. Lewis looked to get back in the contest after three straight buckets, one from Hill two from Frericks made it a one-possession game.
UIU got the two baskets back to extend it back to six. Hill got it back down to two (50-48) before a 14-3 run by the Peacocks made it 64-51 with 6 minutes remaining.
Lewis got as close as seven but Upper Iowa was able to hold off the Flyers for a 80-70 victory.
