Both teams scored two points each to start the second set before the Lions capped off a 6-1 rally to go ahead 7-3. Moments later, Lewis was able to respond and tie the set at 15-15 after scoring three straight, which was started by a kill from Roquet.

The Lions went up 17-16 but that would be the last time they led as Lewis scored nine straight points to win the set 25-17. During that stretch, Prayer recorded a pair of aces while Michael Sack (Oak Lawn, Ill./St. Laurence) recorded a pair of kills.

Set 3: Lewis 25, Lindenwood 20

Lindenwood tried to fight back into the set and cut it down to two (17-15) but Lewis scored three straight to keep it ahead 20-15. Lewis was able to hold off the Lions 25-20 and take a 2-1 lead heading into the fourth.
