ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The Lewis University men's soccer team recorded a 2-0 victory against Drury University on Sunday (Oct. 13). This marks the fourth straight win for the Flyers.

HALF BREAKDOWN
First Half: Lewis 0, Drury 0
The game started off strong with a shot by Stampley and a shot by Hernandez which were both saved by Drury's goalkeeper. Lewis and Drury got off some corner kicks then Perez got a shot off which was off target.
The Panthers tried to score the first goal of the game but it was saved by Doppelhofer. Neither side gave the other a chance to score and so the first half ended at tied 0-0.
Second Half: Lewis 2, Drury 0
The second period started off with a bang with a goal by Stampley as he found the back of the net in the opening minute of the half with an assist from Darlage and Gordonickis to give Lewis an 1-0 advantage. Asore tried to keep the momentum up by recording two shots consecutively but none found the back of the net.
The Panthers attempted to even up the score but Doppelhofer was there to save their shot attempt. Lewis was not finished here as the Flyers doubled its lead and Darlage scored a goal which was assisted by Perez in the 63rd minute and extended the lead to 2-0.
Drury tried to crawl back into the match but were not successful as their shot attempts were off target and saved. The Panthers attempted their last chance to score by making two consecutive shots, however, Doppelhofer shut both of them down.
