JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The Lewis University women's soccer team claimed victory against Lincoln (MO) 2-1 on Sunday (Oct. 20).

HALF BREAKDOWN
First Half: Lewis 1, Lincoln (MO) 0
The period started off with a shot saved by Graziosi and then a shot by Melisa Hadzic (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton Warrenville South) that was saved by Lincoln's goalkeeper. The match went back and forth and it continued with another shot saved by Graziosi, however, Delong made a shot of her own which found the back of the net with an assist by Aguilar.
This marked the first goal of the game and put Lewis ahead 1-0. The period continued with more shots from both sides.
These shots were made by Delong, Culver, Vargas and Hadzic and there was another save by Graziosi. These attempts by Lincoln were unsuccessful, and the first period ended with Lewis in a 1-0 lead.
Second Half: Lewis 1, Lincoln (MO) 1
Moving into the second period, the ball kept changing possession and shots were coming back and forth. Morgan Krupp (New Baltimore, Mich./Anchor Bay High School), Delong and Hadzic were taking shots while Graziosi continued to make saves from the Blue Tigers. This time, however, Lincoln was the one who broke through and scored their first goal to tie the game 1-1.
After this, Lewis went back on the offense side of the ball with a shot by Aguilar and a shot on goal by Harvey that successfully went in the Blue Tigers goal and put the Flyers right back into the lead 2-1.
Lewis then continued to make sure to not give Lincoln any leeway and kept up their offensive pressure. More shots were made by the Flyers while Lincoln could only manage one shot of their own that was met by Graziosi.
In the end, the Flyers kept up the pressure against the Blue Tigers and they were not able to score to tie the game. Lewis ended the period and the game with a 2-1 win over Lincoln.
