HALF BREAKDOWN
First Half: Lewis 1, UIndy 1
Lewis began Friday's match with an intense offense which set the tone for the remainder of the match. Within the first five minutes, a roller off the foot of Stampley, found Czosnyka who fired a shot past the Greyhounds goalkeeper to give Lewis an early 1-0 lead.
A large portion of the first half had little offense as both teams battled in the midfield for control. With less than minute in the half, a Greyhounds shot got past Doppelhoffer and the game was tied heading into halftime.
Second Half: Lewis 1, UIndy 0
The second half was a true battle of attrition where both teams dug deep to try and pull ahead. UIndy committed many fouls and received a few cards which allowed Lewis to hold possession of the ball more than them.
As the game came to a close it was assumed the two GLVC juggernauts would draw the match and business would be handled in the conference tournament. However, at 83:59, a goal by Stampley gave the Flyers a one goal lead with minutes left on the clock. Lewis parked the bus for the final minute and drove back to the central time zone with a victory in hand.
Final Score: Lewis 2, UIndy 1
