ROMEOVILLE, Ill. -- The Lewis University women's basketball won in a non-conference matchup 69-49 against Roosevelt to take home their seventh straight win of the season and eighth overall.

GAME SUMMARY
Returning home after a stretch of road games, the Flyers took the floor at Neil Carey Arena in 2024 for the final time. Badali began the game with a good mid range jumper to give Lewis the first lead of the night. The Lakers forced some turnovers and put up a few shots to take the lead, with the first quarter going back and forth for the first few minutes.
After a layup from McNamee, Badli came back down the other end to hit Lewis' first three of the game. After a jump shot from Hoover, the Flyers began to pick up steam by scoring 25 in the first quarter. Badali continued to work her way to the net with good rebounding by
Kree Nunnally (Crystal Lake, Ill./Example Academy) and perimeter play by
Tara Gugliuzza (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way West) and
Taylor Gugliuzza (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way West).
After a Roosevelt bucket, McNamee extended the lead back to ten with a layup. There was a few stretches in the second quarter with no scoring from either squad, but after a few minutes Nunnally missed a layup only for it to find her hands again for a bucket off of a Cesarini rebound and assist. The Flyers then scored on back to back offensive possessions off a layups from Bueno Yahaira and Hoover. The Flyers closed out the half leading 37-30
Out of the locker room McNamee was good for six straight to start another high scoring quarter for the Flyers. Gugliuzza, Taylor, got in on the third quarter action with a layup to bring Lewis to 45.
Cesarini went one for two from the free throw line and then came down a few possessions later to hit a three. The Quarter was capped off with to good free throws by
Tara Gugliuzza (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way West) to give Lewis a 55-42 score heading into the final ten minutes.
The Lakers stuck first in thr fourth with a layup only for the Flyers to respond with back to back threes by Badali and Cesarini. The closed the game out with two free throws by the game's leading scorer Badali and a final layup by
Jasmine Jones (Bolingbrook, IL/Bolingbrook).
The Flyers walk away with lucky number seven and increase their record to 8-1 on the season with a 69-49 win over Roosevelt.
