INDIANAPOLIS -- The Lewis University women's basketball team opened Great Lakes Valley Conference play on the road as the Flyers defeated Indianapolis 68-41 Monday (December 2).

GAME SUMMARY
Indianapolis started the contest with the opening basket then Lewis got back-to-back threes from Gugliuzza and Hoover to make it 6-2. The Greyhounds got a three before the Flyers got two triples in a row one from Gugliuzza and Badali to extend it out to 12-5.
UIndy cut it down to 14-10 in favor of Lewis but the Flyers scored six unanswered including five from Bueno to make it 20-10. Both teams traded three-pointers towards the end of first quarter as Lewis led 23-14 after one.
Lewis extended its lead out to 32-19 after back-to-back baskets by Badali and Cesarani with 3:00 left before the break but those would be the final two baskets of the second for the Flyers. Indianapolis closed out the first half with five points including a layup and a three-pointer which made it 32-24 at the break.
The Flyers opened up the second half with a layup by Cesarini and a three-pointer by Badali to make it double digits again at 37-24 early in the third. The Greyhounds tried to get back in the contest and made it 41-30 Lewis.
Lewis went on to score seven unanswered midway through the third to pull ahead 48-30 including a three-pointer by Hoover and back-to-back layups from Bueno. A layup by the Greyhounds made it 54-39.
Lewis closed out the contest on a 14-2 run the last 6:14 of the game. The Flyers ended up winning 68-41.
