Lewis Women's Lacrosse Drops Contest to Concordia-St. Paul Sunday

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The Lewis University women's lacrosse team dropped a non-conference matchup against Concordia-St. Paul 13-8 at Concordia Dome Sunday (Feb. 18).

GAME SUMMARY
FIRST QUARTER: Lewis 4, Concordia-St. Paul 2
Concordia-St. Paul scored the first two goals of the contest during the opening four minutes. Lewis responded with four unanswered to close out the quarter. 

Bowen recorded her sixth goal of the season off the assist from Sydney Able (Aurora, Colo./Regis Jesuit). Bowen tied it at 2-2 with her free position shot for her seventh goal of the season. 

Carlie Serritella (Chicago, Ill./Resurrection) gave Lewis a 3-2 lead after scoring her third goal of the season with 3:25 remaining in the first. Bowen recorded a hat trick with her third goal of the contest to give Lewis a 4-2 lead. 

SECOND QUARTER: Concordia-St. Paul 4, Lewis 2
The Bears responded in the second quarter with three straight goals to regain the lead at 5-4. Daniella Winterlik (Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada/Terry Fox) found Alyssa Davidson (Geneva, Ill./Geneva) with 6:23 left to tie it at 5-5.

Concordia-St. Paul regained the lead with 2:31 left which made it 6-5. Winterlik recorded a goal of her own off a free position shot just 16 seconds later to tie it at 6. 

THIRD QUARTER: Concordia-St. Paul 2, Lewis 1
CSP started the second half with a goal which gave the Bears a 7-6 lead. Less than two minutes later, Amelia Procyk (Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada/Dr. Charles Best) was able to find the back of the net to tie it at 7-7 off the pass from Winterlik. 

The Bears responded less than 30 seconds later to regain the lead to make it 8-7 CSP. 

FOURTH QUARTER: Concordia-St. Paul 5, Lewis 1
CSP built on its lead to start the fourth quarter as the Bears scored the first two goals to extend their lead to 10-7. Bowen scored her game-high fourth goal of the contest and ninth of the season off a free position shot which made it 10-8. 

The Bears were the only ones to score the rest of the game as Concordia-St. Paul recorded the final three goals of the contest. 

FINAL SCORE: Concordia-St. Paul 13, Lewis 8
