DAVENPORT, Ia. - The Lewis University women's lacrosse team took down St. Ambrose 25-7 Saturday (Feb. 24) to pick up its first win of the season.

GAME SUMMARY
The Flyers came out quickly, scoring twice in a span of 27 seconds on goals by Serritella and Procyk to lead 2-0 at the 12:08 mark of the first quarter.
After a Bees goal the Flyers tallied another pair of goals from Bowen and Winterlik within a minute stretch. The teams traded goals until the Flyers scored twice at the end of the period on shots from Winterlik and Serritella to lead 7-3 after one.
Lewis continued its run to open the second period with the first three goals to pull ahead 10-3 as Winterlik scored twice and Serritella pushed the Flyers into double figures.
The Flyers followed a St. Ambrose goal with five more goals to finish the half ahead 15-4. Sweeney scored twice during the run, while
Chiara Hurd (Hoffman Estates, Ill./Hoffman Estates), Bowen and Procyk found the back of the net.
Sweeney opened the second half with an early goal to push the lead to 16-4. The Bees came back with a goal, but the Flyers answered with four more in the period to lead 20-5 as Bowen tallied two goals and
Emma Stanek (Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville North) and Davidson added goals.
Goals from Sweeney and Procyk to start the fourth quarter pushed the score to 22-5. Serritella sandwiched a goal between two St. Ambrose goals, while Lauren Hoesly, Hurd and
Catherine Roney (Barrington, Ill./Saint Viator) scored goals to end the game.
