ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The Lewis University women's basketball team defeated Rockhurst 80-55 for its sixth straight win Thursday (Feb. 22) at Neil Carey Arena.

GAME SUMMARY
Gugliuzza scored the first four points of the game and a pair of free throws gave Lewis an early 6-2 advantage. Six straight Rockhurst points made it 8-6 Rockhurst midway through the first quarter.
The Flyers came back with seven straight points behind five from Hilber to retake the lead 13-8. A conventional three-point play by
Gabrielle Hoover (Mishawaka, Ind./La Lumiere) and a three-pointer by Badali gave Lewis a 19-13 advantage after the first quarter.
Another three by Badali to start the second quarter and a basket by
Tara Gugliuzza (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way West) made it 24-13 Flyers. The Flyers steadily continued to build the lead and a
Lily Courier (LaGrange, Ill./Lyons Township) jumper made it 40-25 at the half.
A Hilber three-pointer a minute into the third quarter made it 45-27 Flyers. Hilber's free throws and basket extended the lead to 53-31 midway through the third.
The Hawks answered with 11 straight points to cut the deficit to 53-42 before a Tay. Gugliuzza free throw and Courier jumper stopped the run. A Badali three-pointer and Courier layup gave Lewis a 63-44 advantage after three quarters.
Hilber's layup at the 8:09 mark of the fourth quarter pushed the lead back over 20 points, which the Flyers would maintain the remainder of the game.
