GAME 2 TEAM RECORDS
Lewis 3-5 | Trevecca Nazarene 6-3
GAME 2 SUMMARY
George Bilecki (Chicago, Ill./Marist) led off game two with a single and Alt laid down a sacrifice bunt but an error by Trevecca led to Bilecki scoring and Alt reaching third. After Alt scored on a sac fly by Kocen,
Tony Fleischauer (Joliet, Ill./Joliet Catholic) later doubled home Headrick to make it 3-0 Lewis.
The Trojans got one back in the bottom of the first, but a big play by Alt throwing a runner out at home from left field limited the damage. The Flyers got another run in the third off a single by Krol and three walks, with Keaty earning the RBI on his walk that scored Fleischauer to make it 4-1.
Trevecca got within one run after scoring two in the bottom of the fifth. Lewis made sure that didn't last long, scoring six runs in the sixth to pull away.
Headrick hit a sac fly to bring in Alt for the first run, and with two outs the Flyers then went on a rally. Fox singled, Fleischauer walked, and Krol was hit by a pitch to score Kocen. The Trojans changed pitchers, but walks to McDevitt and Keaty brought home two more runs and an error scored McDevitt and Krol to cap off the six-run frame.
Dylan Wolff (Joliet, Ill.) earned the victory (1-0) going four innings and allowing three runs (one earned) on just two hits, walking and striking out three.
Luke Carlson (Granville, Ill./Putnam County) earned his first save of the season after retiring each of the final seven Trojan batters, striking out three.
