ST. CHARLES, Mo. - The Lewis University baseball team began its weekend series at Missouri-St. Louis with a 13-6 win in St. Charles, Mo. on the campus of Lindenwood University.

GAME SUMMARY
Lewis jumped out early with six runs in the first inning after each of the first five batters of the game recorded hits.
Michael Alt (Appleton, Wis./Kimberly) and
Thomas Fox (Norfolk, Va./Norfolk Christian) both singled, then
Mikey Kocen (Beach Park, Ill.) hit an RBI double to score Alt.
George Bilecki (Chicago, Ill./Marist) then had an infield single to load the bases before
Chris McDevitt (Chicago, Ill./St. Rita) singled home both Fox and Kocen.
Jason Krol (Chicago, Ill./St. Laurence) chipped in an RBI groundout, followed by an RBI single by
Cain Headrick (Custer Park, Ill./Providence Catholic), who scored the sixth and final run of the inning on Alt's second single.
In the top of the second, Krol hit a two-RBI triple, scoring Kocen and McDevitt, to make it 8-0. UMSL scored one run in the bottom half to get on the board.
Alt smacked his third single of the game in the third inning and later came around to score on Kocen's single later in the frame. McDevitt later knocked in Fox and Kocen with a single to push the lead to 10, 11-1.
The Tritons scored four runs on four hits and a walk in the bottom of the fifth to cut the deficit to 11-5.
Michael Sclafani (Oak Brook, Ill./Montini Catholic) faced the first two batters of the sixth and then was done with five runs allowed (four earned) in 5 1/3 innings on seven hits and three walks with three strikeouts while earning the win (3-2).
UMSL got another run back in the bottom of the seventh to make it 11-6. In the top of the ninth, Kocen doubled home Fox and later scored on a single by McDevitt which extended the lead to 13-6.
