ASHLAND, Ohio -- The Lewis University women's lacrosse team suffered a setback, 14-9, at Ashland University Friday (March 15).

GAME SUMMARY
FIRST QUARTER: Ashland 5, Lewis 1
Ashland started the game with the first three goals in the first 10 minutes. Lewis got on the scoreboard as Bowen found the back of the net to make it 3-1.
The Eagles closed out the opening frame with a pair of goals which gave them an 5-1 advantage after one. Lewis had four other shot attempts but none found the back of the net.
SECOND QUARTER: Lewis 4, Ashland 2
Lewis started the second period with a pair of goals to cut it down to 5-3. Bowen recorded her second goal of the contest off a free position shot at the 13:16 mark.
33 seconds later, Bowen was able to find
Amelia Procyk (Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada/Dr. Charles Best) for the score which made it 5-3. Ashland responded with a pair of goals of its own to regain a four-goal lead with under 10 minutes before halftime.
The Flyers got the two goals right back as Bowen was able to find the open player as
Daniella Winterlik (Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada/Terry Fox) recorded a goal with 2:41 left. In the closing minute of the first half, Procyk record her second goal of the game off a free position shot which made it 7-5 Ashland.
Templeton recorded five saves in the second period to keep it a two-score game.
THIRD QUARTER: Ashland 4, Lewis 1
Ashland came out firing in the second half as the Eagles scored the first four goals of the third unanswered. Bowen recorded her third goal of the match after her free position shot found the back of the net with 1:01 left in the third.
FOURTH QUARTER: Ashland 3, Lewis 3
The Eagles scored the first two goals of the fourth quarter. Winterlik was able to secure her second goal of the contest with 11:49 to play in the game.
Ashland got the goal right back with 4:21 to play in the game. Bowen responded 14 seconds later as she recorded her team-high fourth goal of the match off a free-position shot.
Lewis tacked on another goal with 1:45 left in the game as Bowen found
Alyssa Davidson (Geneva, Ill./Geneva) for the goal which made it 14-9 and that score would hold.
FINAL SCORE: Ashland 14, Lewis 9
