TIFFIN, Ohio -- The Lewis University women's lacrosse team defeated host Tiffin, 19-1, Sunday (March 17). The Flyers shutout the Dragons for the first three quarters and did not allow a goal until early fourth quarter.

GAME SUMMARY
FIRST QUARTER: Lewis 2, Tiffin 0
Lewis started the first quarter with a pair of goals to start the scoring. In the opening minute of the contest,
Heidi Sweeney (New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada/New Westminster) started the scoring for the Flyers to make it 1-0.
Winterlik found
Alyssa Davidson (Geneva, Ill./Geneva) with 3:57 left in the first quarter to extend Lewis' lead to 2-0. Templeton recorded a save in the period.
SECOND QUARTER: Lewis 8, Tiffin 0
The Flyers broke the game wide open in the second quarter after scoring eight goals in the period. Winterlik recorded her first of seven goals at the 8:43 mark in the second quarter to expand the Lewis lead to 3-0.
35 seconds later, Bowen recorded a free-position shot which made it 4-0. 27 seconds later, Winterlik picked up her second goal of the game which extended the lead to 5-0.
Bowen was able to make it 6-0 24 seconds later as the junior found the back of the net. Later in the second quarter, Lewis expanded the lead to 7-0 after
Carlie Serritella (Chicago, Ill./Resurrection) scored a goal.
In the final 2:13 of the second quarter, Winterlik scored the final three goals for the Flyers. The first one came with 2:13 then 0:49 and 0:25 remaining which gave Lewis a 10-0 lead at the half.
THIRD QUARTER: Lewis 4, Tiffin 0
Lewis started the second half with the first four goals of the second half to expand its lead to 14-0. Winterlik found
Sydney Able (Aurora, Colo./Regis Jesuit) as she found the back of the net at the 8:46 mark in the third.
Davidson found an opening and fed it to Sweeney for the goal to make it 12-0. Winterlik recorded her team high sixth goal of the match with 1:24 left in the contest which made it 13-0.
Winterlik was able to find Sweeney with 10 seconds remaining in the third to expand the Lewis lead to 14-0.
FOURTH QUARTER: Lewis 5, Tiffin 1
Tiffin was able to get on the scoreboard first in the fourth quarter and for the first time all contest. Lewis was able to respond with five unanswered goals to close out the contest.
Ameila Procyk was able to get on the statsheet for goals as she recorded back-to-back goals and one was assisted by Bowen to make it 16-1. Winterlik scored her seventh goal of the match off a free-position shot to extend Lewis' lead to 17-1.
Procyk found Sweeney with 3:55 remaining in the game for her fourth goal of the day which made it 18-1. With 1:18 left to go, Stanek was able to give the Flyers a 19-1 lead after she found the back of the net.
