GAME SUMMARY
FIRST QUARTER: Mercyhurst 4, Lewis 2
Mercyhurst started the game with a goal in the first three minutes. Lewis responded with back-to-back goals to take a 2-1 lead.
Nolan Dalep (Victoria, British Columbia, Canada/Claremont Secondary School) found Ruskoski as he found the back of the net to tie it. A little over two minutes later, Clement found Andre for the score to make it 2-1 Lewis.
The Lakers responded with two goals at the end of the first quarter which gave them a 4-2 lead. Rathe stopped four shots on goal from Mercyhurst.
SECOND QUARTER: Lewis 2, Mercyhurst 2
Clement opened up the scoring in the second quarter with a goal for his 18th of the season. Mercyhurst responded with back-to-back goals to extend its lead to 6-3.
Dylan Kendrick (Chanhassen, Minnesota/Chanhassen HS) scored his fourth goal of the season with 2:54 left in the first half. Rathe recorded a pair of saves in the second period.
THIRD QUARTER: Mercyhurst 4, Lewis 1
Mercyhurst scored the first three goals of the third quarter in the opening nine minutes. Lewis was able to get on the board as Clement found
Malikye Good (Windsor, Ontario, Canada/St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic HS) for his 13th goal of the season at the 5:44 mark in the third.
Not even a minute later, the Lakers scored its fourth goal of the quarter which put Mercyhurst ahead 10-5. Rathe recorded six more saves in the third to keep the score right there.
FOURTH QUARTER: Lewis 2, Mercyhurst 0
Lewis was the only one to score in the fourth quarter, keeping Mercyhurst off the scoreboard. Rathe recorded a pair of saves in the final period to up his total to 14 for the contest.
Luke Schroeder (Plymouth, Minnesota/Totino-Grace HS) found Clement to score his team-high 19th goal of the season to make it 10-6. In the closing seconds of the game, Andre found Schroeder as he found the back of the net for the first time all season to make it 10-7 and that score would hold up.
FINAL SCORE: Mercyhurst 10, Lewis 7
