ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - The Lewis University baseball team won, 3-2 on a walk-off in the tenth inning against Maryville in its first home GLVC matchup of the year Friday (March 22) at Brennan Field.

GAME SUMMARY
Maryville opened the scoring with a run on two hits in the top of the third inning. That was the only run on the board for the first five and a half innings, as Lewis starting pitcher
Dylan Wolff (Joliet, Ill.) finished with six innings and one run allowed on three hits with two walks and three strikeouts.
The Flyers then tied the score 1-1 in the bottom of the sixth as
George Bilecki (Chicago, Ill./Marist) hit a solo home run over the right field wall. The Saints regained the lead with an RBI double in the top of the eighth inning to make it 2-1.
Lewis battled back as
Mikey Kocen (Beach Park, Ill.) led off the bottom of the eighth with a double and scored on
Jason Krol's (Chicago, Ill./St. Laurence) single.
Luke Carlson (Granville, Ill./Putnam County) entered on the mound for the Flyers in the ninth inning and retired six straight batters with two strikeouts to get through the ninth and tenth innings scoreless, earning the win (1-2).
With one out in the bottom of the tenth, Kocen drew a walk, Krol singled through the right side to send him to third and set up Bilecki's walk-off single to right field as Kocen came home to score the winning run.
