Both sides traded points early until Queens held a 7-6 lead. Then, Lewis used a 3-0 run centered around a service ace by Roquet to go ahead 9-7.

A kill by Drolsum later made it 12-9 but the Royals kept things close as the lead never went past three points. A kill by Roquet set the score at 17-14 later in the set.

Drolsum provided a big ace to put Lewis' lead at 20-17, and a kill by Yusk got the Flyers to match point at 24-21. After Queens took the next two points, a service error gave Lewis the set.

Set 2: Lewis 26, Queens 24
The Flyers charged out of the gate in set two, taking a 4-1 lead on consecutive kills by Shawn Baggs (Gilbert, Ariz./Casteel HS), Roquet and Haber. A block by Roquet, Yusk and Morgan restored the Lewis lead to three points, 7-4.

Queens went on the charge from there, using a 4-1 push to tie the score at eight. Another 4-1 Royals run made it 13-11 in favor of Queens.

Lewis regained the lead on three straight errors by the Royals including a block by Yusk and Morgan to make it 15-14. Queens recovered to take five of the next seven points and go up 19-17.

Needing a big run, the Flyers took five of six points to gain a 23-21 lead. After the score was tied at 24, Yusk put down back-to-back kills to win the set for Lewis.

Set 3: Lewis 25, Queens 21
Momentum shifted back-and-forth early in set three, with the Flyers going up 7-3 early with two kills and an ace by Baggs. The Royals then used a 4-1 push to get back in it at 8-7.

Lewis responded by taking the next four points, bookended by a kill and ace by Roquet, to make it 12-7 and the Flyers never looked back. Both sides traded points from there until a 4-2 scoring run for Lewis brought the lead to 19-13.

A 5-1 charge from Queens cut the deficit to two, 21-19, but the Flyers held on to the lead the rest of the way. After a kill by Roquet set up match point, Yusk and Nathan DeGraaf (Cranberry Township, Penn./Seneca Valley HS) combined for a block to finish the match.
