GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The Lewis University women's lacrosse team suffered a setback on the road as the Flyers fell to Davenport 16-10 Sunday (March 24).

GAME SUMMARY
FIRST QUARTER: Davenport 3, Lewis 3
Lewis got on the board first as Winterlik scored just 2:40 into the game. Davenport scored the next three goals to take a 3-1 lead.
Heidi Sweeney (New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada/New Westminster) then scored off an assist from
Amelia Procyk (Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada/Dr. Charles Best) to cut the deficit to one and Winterlik scored again on a free-position shot with the Flyers on the advantage to tie it at three. Templeton made three saves in the opening frame.
SECOND QUARTER: Davenport 4, Lewis 4
The Panthers scored the first two goals of the second quarter to regain the lead, 5-3. Bowen scored to bring Lewis back within one on a free-position shot while on the advantage but Davenport answered with a free-position goal of its own to make it 6-4.
Bowen sent a pass to
Alyssa Davidson (Geneva, Ill./Geneva) to score the next goal at 6:31, then Bowen found the back of the net again to tie it with 5:14 left before halftime.
Carlie Serritella (Chicago, Ill./Resurrection) got herself on the stat sheet with a goal to put Lewis ahead 7-6.
Davenport notched a late goal to tie it at halftime, 7-7.
THIRD QUARTER: Davenport 6, Lewis 1
The Panthers scored five goals in the first seven minutes of the second half to take a commanding lead. Bowen scored on a free position shot as the Flyers looked to get back in it.
Late in the quarter, Davenport scored again to make it 13-8 heading to the fourth. Templeton added four saves in the frame.
FOURTH QUARTER: Lewis 2, Davenport 1
The Panthers were first to score again in the fourth quarter, going ahead 14-8 with 11:03 to play. Lewis struck back with 3:56 to go as Sweeney scored after taking a feed from Serritella.
Winterlik scored the final goal of the game on a free-position shot as the Flyers were a player down. Templeton made three saves in the fourth quarter.
FINAL SCORE: Davenport 14, Lewis 10
