ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - The Lewis University men's lacrosse team defeated Davenport 20-8 for its fourth straight victory, including three in a row in Great Lakes Valley Conference play, Wednesday (April 10).

GAME SUMMARY
FIRST QUARTER: Lewis 5, Davenport 0
Lewis scored the only five goals of the first quarter for an early 5-0 lead. In the opening minute of the contest Clement found Blaz to quickly made it 1-0.
Logan Suchy (Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota/Simley HS) was able to locate Boyenko with 12:34 on the clock to make it 2-0. On the ensuing faceoff, Tarello won the draw and recorded the ground ball, then drove the field and found Boyenko for the goal to make it 3-0.
Malikye Good (Windsor, Ontario, Canada/St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic HS) found Boyenko for his third straight goal which extended it out to 4-0. Dominic Bravata (Portage, Michigan/Portage Northern HS) gave Lewis a 5-0 lead with 7:49 on the clock in the first period.
Rathe recorded a pair of saves in the first quarter.
SECOND QUARTER: Lewis 7, Davenport 1
Lewis opened up the second 15 minutes with four goals which gave Lewis an 9-0 advantage. Clement was able to find the open man
Andrew Schermerhorn (Appleton, Wisconsin/St. Francis Xavier HS / Canisius College) for a goal in the opening minute of the second quarter to make it 6-0.
Buddelmeyer was able to get on the goal tally to give the Flyers a 7-0 lead. Boyenko recorded his first assist of the contest after he found
Nate McLean (Crystal Lake, Illinois/Crystal Lake Central HS) at the 9:17 mark in the second quarter which made it 8-0.
Tarello won the ensuing faceoff and took it all the way and recorded the goal which gave Lewis a 9-0 lead. Davenport recorded its first goal of the contest at the 8:28 mark to make it 9-1.
Lewis closed out the second quarter with three more goals to extend its lead to 12-1. Boyenko found an open man again with
Luke Schroeder (Plymouth, Minnesota/Totino-Grace HS) finding the back of the net to make it 10-1.
Boyenko recorded his third assist of the game after finding Clement at the 1:51 mark in second which extended Lewis' lead to 11-1. Buddelmeyer made it 12-1 in favor of the Flyers after his goal with 1:03 extended the lead.
Rathe recorded four more saves in the second period.
THIRD QUARTER: Davenport 3, Lewis 2
Lewis opened up the third quarter with a goal from
Michael Metheny (Fishers, Indiana/Hamilton Southeastern HS) to make it 13-1 Lewis. Davenport had a response with three straight goals to make it 13-4 Flyers with 5:40 remaining in the third.
In the closing minute, Blaz recorded a goal for the Flyers to make it 14-4. Donahue recorded four saves in the third to keep it 14-4.
FOURTH QUARTER: Lewis 6, Davenport 4
The Panthers picked up the first goal of the fourth quarter which made it 14-5 Lewis. The Flyers responded with a pair of goals of its own to make it 16-5 as
Layne Kology (Hanover, Minnesota/Buffalo HS) found
Paul Ruskoski (Tulsa, Oklahoma/Bishop Kelley HS) and
Nate McLean (Crystal Lake, Illinois/Crystal Lake Central HS) recorded goals.
Davenport got back on the board with the next goal to make it 16-6.
Drew Andre (Pitt Meadows, British Columbia, Canada/Pitt Meadows Secondary School) passed it into Ruskoski to give Lewis a 17-6 advantage with 7:09 remaining in the contest.
The Panthers got the ensuing goal to make it a 10-goal game again. Lewis got the next three goals to extend its lead to 20-7.
Matt Dabrowski (Rosemount, Minnesota/Rosemount HS) recorded his first career goal at the 5:46 remaining in the contest. Buddelmeyer found
Trevor Collier (Millersville, Maryland/Old Mill HS / Anne Arundel Community College) for the goal to make it 19-7.
Schermerhorn picked up his second goal of the contest to make it 20-7 with 5:05 left. Donahue picked up a pair of more saves in the contest.
