FAYETTE, Iowa - The Lewis University baseball team won, 13-1 in seven innings, at Upper Iowa Friday (April 12).

GAMEÂ SUMMARY
Lewis started fast as
Thomas Fox (Norfolk, Va./Norfolk Christian) and
Mikey Kocen (Beach Park, Ill.) hit back-to-back home runs to lead off the game to give the Flyers a 2-0 lead. Upper Iowa struck back with a run in the bottom of the second to make it 2-1.
Michael Alt (Appleton, Wis./Kimberly) singled to lead off the top of the third for Lewis and later scored on a sacrifice fly by Kocen. Later in the inning, a single by
Chris McDevitt (Chicago, Ill./St. Rita) brought home
Jason Krol (Chicago, Ill./St. Laurence) to make it 4-1.
The Flyers kept the lead growing in the fourth as Fox singled home
Cain Headrick (Custer Park, Ill./Providence Catholic). Lewis then scored seven runs in the top of the sixth to break the game open.
Kocen singled to score Alt to start the rally, then McDevitt hit a two-run double which plated Fox and Kocen to bring the score to 8-1.
George Bilecki (Chicago, Ill./Marist) added an RBI single to bring Krol home, followed by Headrick hitting a single that allowed McDevitt to cross the plate.
Bilecki scored on a wild pitch and
Patrick Keaty (South Elgin, Ill./South Elgin) had an RBI groundout that scored Headrick to cap off the scoring in the inning with the Flyers ahead 12-1. McDevitt added a solo homer in the seventh to make it 13-1.
Dylan Wolff (Joliet, Ill.) got the win (4-2) on the mound for Lewis, throwing all seven innings and allowing one run on seven hits and two walks with one strikeout.
