ROMEOVILLE, Ill. -- The Lewis University women's lacrosse team rallied from down two goals in the fourth and defeated Great Lakes Valley Conference opponent McKendree 13-12 in overtime on Senior Day Sunday (April 21).

GAME SUMMARY
FIRST QUARTER: Lewis 5, McKendree 3
McKendree started the scoring in the first two minutes of the contest to go ahead 1-0. Lewis responded with four unanswered goals which put the Flyers ahead 4-1.
Serritella recorded the first goal for Lewis after receiving the ball from Able which tied it 1-1. 44 seconds later, Davidson found
Heidi Sweeney (New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada/New Westminster) with an opening and scored which gave Lewis a 2-1 lead.
Bowen found Serritella at the 8:57 mark which gave the Flyers a 3-1 lead. Serritella already had her hat trick with 5:29 as she had a free position goal to make it 4-1 Lewis.
The Bearcats responded with the next goal to make it 4-2 at the 4:23 mark. Bowen scored her first goal of the contest to extend the Lewis lead out to 5-2.
McKendree responded 17 seconds later and made it 5-3 after recording the next goal. Templeton recorded four saves in the period.
SECOND QUARTER: McKendree 2, Lewis 1
Bowen started the scoring in the second quarter with a goal at the 9:18 mark to extend the Lewis lead out to 6-3. McKendree closed out the second period with a pair of goals to cut it down to 6-5 in favor Lewis.
Templeton picked up four more saves in the second.
THIRD QUARTER: McKendree 5, Lewis 4
Lewis opened up the second half with three straight goals to go up 9-5. Bowen recorded her hat trick and picked up a free-position goal to give Lewis a 7-5 lead.
Daniella Winterlik (Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada/Terry Fox) scored a goal 46 seconds later with 12:20 on the clock, making it 8-5 Lewis. Davidson found Bowen again with 10:32 remaining as Bowen found the back of the net to make it 9-5.
McKendree responded with three straight goals to make it a one-goal game again at 9-8. Serritella ended the Bearcats run with her fourth goal of the contest which gave Lewis a 10-8 lead.
The Bearcats bounced back and scored the final two goals of the third quarter which tied it at 10-10.
FOURTH QUARTER: McKendree 2, Lewis 2
McKendree scored the first two goals of the fourth quarter in the first four minutes, giving the Bearcats a 12-10 advantage with 11 minutes to play. At the 9:40 mark, Bowen was able to find Serritella for the goal to make it 12-11.
Davidson found Serritella once again with an opening for her sixth goal of the contest which tied it at 12-12 at the 1:15 mark in the fourth. Templeton recorded five huge saves in the fourth quarter to keep it tied.
OVERTIME: Lewis 1, McKendree 0
Bowen converted on a free-position shot with 46 seconds left for her fifth goal of the contest to win it for Lewis.
