QUINCY, Ill. - The Lewis University baseball team lost both games in a doubleheader at Quincy Saturday (April 6). The Hawks won the first game, 2-1, and game two 6-3.
GAME 1 TEAM RECORDS

GAME 1 SUMMARY
Quincy scored one run each in the first and second innings, both on solo home runs, to take a 2-0 lead. Lewis threatened in the top of the second, loading the bases with a double by
Chris McDevitt (Chicago, Ill./St. Rita), a hit by pitch from
Cain Headrick (Custer Park, Ill./Providence Catholic) and single by
Tony Fleischauer (Joliet, Ill./Joliet Catholic), but the Hawks escaped the jam without allowing a run.
In the top of the fifth,
Patrick Keaty (South Elgin, Ill./South Elgin) bashed a solo homer to cut the Flyers' deficit to 2-1. Lewis got two runners on with one out in the sixth, but could not score again the rest of the game.
Michael Sclafani (Oak Brook, Ill./Montini Catholic) took the loss (2-3) on the mound, throwing six innings and allowing two runs on five hits, two walks and striking out five.
GAME 2 TEAM RECORDS
Quincy 13-18 (10-9 GLVC) | Lewis 12-19 (6-13 GLVC)
GAME 2 SUMMARY
Quincy was again first to score in game two with a run on three singles in the bottom of the first.
Jackson Hunley (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie) singled home Keaty in the top of the second to even the score at 1-1.
Mikey Kocen (Beach Park, Ill.) doubled and scored on an error in the third inning as Lewis took a 2-1 lead. Keaty singled and stole two bases before scoring on an infield single by
Michael Alt (Appleton, Wis./Kimberly) in the top of the fourth, making the Flyers' lead 3-1.
The Hawks battled back with one run in the bottom of the fourth, then three in the bottom of the fifth to take a 5-3 advantage. Another Quincy run in the bottom of the sixth made it 6-3 and finished the scoring in the contest.
Luke Carlson (Granville, Ill./Putnam County) took the loss (1-3) on the mound for Lewis, going four innings and facing the first two batters in the fifth without recording an out, surrendering four runs (one earned) on six hits and one walk with four strikeouts.
