QUINCY, Ill. - The Lewis University baseball team won, 14-2 in seven innings, at Quincy Sunday (April 7).

GAME SUMMARY
Lewis started the scoring with a big second inning, scoring five runs in the top half. The Flyers loaded the bases with a Michael Alt (Appleton, Wis./Kimberly) walk, Jackson Hunley (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie) double and Gavin Kriegel (Hampshire, Ill./Hampshire) hit by pitch before George Bilecki (Chicago, Ill./Marist) cleared them with a grand slam.

Mikey Kocen (Beach Park, Ill.) walked, stole a base and later scored on a single by Angelo Cantelo (Blue Island, Ill./Marian Catholic) to make it 5-0. Quincy scored one run in return in the bottom half.

Lewis got two more runs in the top of the fourth off of a two run homer by Kocen that scored Bilecki to bring the lead to 7-1 and the Flyers added five more in the fifth. Lewis had the bases loaded when Jason Krol (Chicago, Ill./St. Laurence) walked to bring home Alt and then Chris McDevitt (Chicago, Ill./St. Rita) hit the Flyers' second grand slam of the day to make it 12-1.

Krol added a two-RBI double in the top of the sixth that brought Hunley and Kocen home. The Hawks scored one run in the bottom half to make it 14-2, but that was all Quincy would get.

Daniel Rosado (Burbank, Ill.) earned the win (1-2) after throwing four innings in relief and allowing one run on four hits, no walks and striking out four.

Lewis baseball heads to Upper Iowa next weekend for another GLVC series next weekend. The Flyers and Peacocks get started Friday (April 12) at 3 p.m. CT.
