QUINCY, Ill. - The Lewis University baseball team won, 14-2 in seven innings, at Quincy Sunday (April 7).

Lewis started the scoring with a big second inning, scoring five runs in the top half. The Flyers loaded the bases with a
Michael Alt (Appleton, Wis./Kimberly) walk,
Jackson Hunley (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie) double and
Gavin Kriegel (Hampshire, Ill./Hampshire) hit by pitch before
George Bilecki (Chicago, Ill./Marist) cleared them with a grand slam.
Mikey Kocen (Beach Park, Ill.) walked, stole a base and later scored on a single by
Angelo Cantelo (Blue Island, Ill./Marian Catholic) to make it 5-0. Quincy scored one run in return in the bottom half.
Lewis got two more runs in the top of the fourth off of a two run homer by Kocen that scored Bilecki to bring the lead to 7-1 and the Flyers added five more in the fifth. Lewis had the bases loaded when
Jason Krol (Chicago, Ill./St. Laurence) walked to bring home Alt and then
Chris McDevitt (Chicago, Ill./St. Rita) hit the Flyers' second grand slam of the day to make it 12-1.
Krol added a two-RBI double in the top of the sixth that brought Hunley and Kocen home. The Hawks scored one run in the bottom half to make it 14-2, but that was all Quincy would get.
Daniel Rosado (Burbank, Ill.) earned the win (1-2) after throwing four innings in relief and allowing one run on four hits, no walks and striking out four.
