ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - The Lewis University men's lacrosse team picked up its third straight win, 20-12, over Maryville Saturday (April 6) at Lewis Stadium.

SUMMARY
Maryville scored the first goal of the contest 21 seconds into the game, but the Flyers answered at the 14:04 mark an a goal from Dalep, assisted by Blaz. The Saints answered to take a 2-1 lead, but
Baden Boyenko (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada/St. Joseph HS / Genesee Community College) again tied up the score at 2-2 with 10:41 left in the first.
Boyenko gave the Flyers their first lead on a pass from Dalep, but Maryville responded two minutes later to tie the game once again.The teams traded goals again to end the quarter with
Nate McLean (Crystal Lake, Illinois/Crystal Lake Central HS) scoring on an assist from Clement.
Lewis took control in the second quarter, scoring all four goals in the period.
Malikye Good (Windsor, Ontario, Canada/St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic HS) scored the first goal, while Blaz tallied the second,
Michael Metheny (Fishers, Indiana/Hamilton Southeastern HS) the third and Dalep the fourth on a pass from Andre to make it 8-4 at the half.
Clement's 25th goal of the year opened the third quarter scoring to make it 9-4 before a Maryville goal ended the run.
Joe Janda (Livonia, Michigan/St. Mary's Preparatory HS / University of Detroit Mercy) scored his first goal of the year to give Lewis a five-goal lead again, before Maryville answered with a goal. Lewis scored the next four goals on shots by Andre, Blaz, Metheny and
Paul Ruskoski (Tulsa, Oklahoma/Bishop Kelley HS) to take a 14-6 lead.
After a Saint goal,
Michael Trbovich (Columbus, Ohio/Dublin Coffman HS) answered with his first of the year to amke it 15-7 after three. Maryville scored the first two goals of the fourth quarter, but the Flyers got the two back on goals from Clement and Good. Blaz,
Wyatt Hoetker (Simpsonville, Kentucky/Christian Academy of Louisville) and Dalep finished the scoring for the Flyers.
