ROMEOVILLE, Ill. -- The Lewis University women's lacrosse team won, 19-12, over Rockhurst Sunday (April 7) at Lewis Stadium.

GAME SUMMARY
FIRST QUARTER: Lewis 7, Rockhurst 2
Lewis scored the first two goals as Serritella scored off an assist from Amelia Procyk (Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada/Dr. Charles Best), then Serritella assisted Alyssa Davidson (Geneva, Ill./Geneva) to make it 2-0. Rockhurst scored to cut the deficit to 2-1 at the 11:29 mark.

Bowen scored her first goal of the game and No. 35 on the year to restore the Flyers' lead to two and later assisted on Heidi Sweeney's (New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada/New Westminster) goal that made it 4-1. The Hawks then scored again before Lewis scored the last three goals of the quarter to go ahead 7-2.

Winterlik scored twice, followed by assisting on Davidson's goal to close out the first frame. Templeton made two saves in the first 15 minutes to help Lewis gain the lead.

SECOND QUARTER: Lewis 5, Rockhurst 3
Rockhurst scored the first two goals of the second quarter to make it a three-goal game. Bowen then found Davidson for her third goal of the game to make it 8-4 Flyers.

The Hawks responded with a goal but Lewis scored the last four of the first half to take a 12-5 lead at the break. Sweeney had the next goal, assisted by Davidson, before Bowen scored the next two for the Flyers.

Serritella had the final goal of the first half, with an assist from Winterlik. Templeton had two more stops in the second quarter.

THIRD QUARTER: Rockhurst 5, Lewis 3
Rockhurst had a big start to the third quarter, scoring the first four goals to trim its deficit to 12-9. Winterlik broke the skid for Lewis with a free-position goal and scored again on a free-position opportunity with 3:24 left in the quarter.

The Hawks then scored just 39 seconds later and Serritella finished the scoring in the quarter with a free-position goal to make it 15-10 Lewis heading to the fourth. Templeton had four saves in the quarter to help the Flyers hold off Rockhurst's charge.

FOURTH QUARTER: Lewis 4, Rockhurst 2
Lewis scored the first four goals of the fourth quarter to put the game away with a 19-10 lead. Bowen scored again to open the frame then Procyk made it 17-10 with a goal of her own.

Bowen added a free-position goal before Serritella scored the Flyers' final goal of the match with 6:55 left to play. The Hawks added two late goals but could not get close the rest of the way

FINAL SCORE: Lewis 19, Rockhurst 12
