ROMEOVILLE, Ill. -- The Schaumburg Boomers announced that former Lewis baseball pitcher
Matt Helwig (Mokena, Ill./Lincoln-Way Central) had his contract sold to the Minnesota Twins.
Helwig has appeared in 10 games out of the bullpen for the Boomers and issued just two walks while striking out 17 in 12 innings of work, a K/9 ratio of 12.75 while posting a 2-0 record with 0.75 ERA.

During his time at Lewis, The Mokena, Illinois native went 4-4 on the mound and recorded six saves while recording 73 strikeouts.
