ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. & GARDEN CITY, N.Y. -- The (RV) Lewis University women's volleyball team swept both games in New York as the Flyers won both games 3-0 Friday (Sept. 20).

SET BREAKDOWN vs. Molloy
Set 1: Lewis 25, Molloy 20
Lewis took the lead 3-0 with a service ace from King. Molloy stayed close behind Lewis with consistent scoring from both teams.
Four consecutive scores from Lewis gave them an 11-5 lead. Molloy brought the score closer with four consecutive points.
Lewis managed to keep its lead throughout the game, although it was a small lead. Lewis managed to score three in a row and Kaczorowski gave the team a 20-16 lead with a service ace.
Lewis kept up the scoring and Molloy was unable to pull ahead and a kill from Gracie Schultz (Minonk, Ill./Fieldcrest High School) ended the set with a 25-20 win for Lewis.
Set 2: Lewis 25, Molloy 19
Going into the second set, Molloy pulled ahead 3-0 (winning score first) but Lewis retaliated back with six consecutive goals points to bring their lead to 6-3 with a kill by Emma O'Neil. After back and forth scores, Lewis lost their lead after three consecutive scores from Molloy and were tied 8-8.
Lewis kept up with Molloy but Molloy pulled ahead after another three consecutive scores. After being down 13-11, Lewis launched a counterattack and almost scored seven consecutive goals points to bring their lead to 18-14.
After more back-and-forth scoring, Lewis managed to pull ahead again with four consecutive scores after a kill by Avery Holubar (Bargersville, Ind./Center Grove) gave Lewis a 23-17 lead. Molloy was unable to keep up and the second set ended 25-19 in favor of Lewis after a service error from Molloy.
Set 3: Lewis 25, Molloy 17
The final set started with many consecutive scores for Molloy and Lewis was down 7-1. Molloy struck back harder with three consecutive scores and Lewis was down further at 10-2.
But Lewis managed to swing back with five consecutive points scores to drop their deficit to 10-7 after a kill from Mallory. Malloy scored a point while Lewis scored three more points consecutively and were suddenly right behind Malloy at 10-11. 11-10.
Some back-and-forth scoring saw Lewis eventually bring the score to a 13-13 tie after a kill from Reese Renfrow (Prosper, Texas/Prosper High School). Lewis and Malloy remained neck and neck until they hit a 16-16 tie.
Lewis, after being so behind at the start, suddenly went ahead of Malloy with seven consecutive goals scored and had a 23-16 lead after an attack error from Malloy. A kill by Kaczorowski and then Renfrow, sealed the deal and Lewis won the set 25-17 and the game against Malloy 3-0.

SET BREAKDOWN vs. Adelphi
Set 1: Lewis 25, Adelphi 21
The game began with Lewis pulling an early lead by scoring four in a row against Adelphi. Adelphi then responded by scoring four points of their own to tie up the set 4-4.
The game continued with back and forth scoring from each school until Lewis pulled ahead with three scores in a row with a kill from Hickey putting the score at 9-7. After some more back and forth scoring, Lewis pulled ahead further by almost scoring six in a row and leading the set 20-15 after a kill from Kaczorowski.
Adelphi was not out yet and managed to score five consecutive goals to tie the set 20-20. Lewis, however, kept up the offense and won 25-21 after Mallory Januski (Bourbonnais, Ill./Valparaiso) scored the set winning point with a kill.
Set 2: Lewis 25, Adelphi 20
Lewis took another early lead by scoring the first three points with a kill by Lily King (Channahan, IL). After some scoring from each school, Lewis managed to advance ahead by scoring four more points and leading 11-4.
Adelphi fired back with their own consecutive scores and nearly tied the score at 12-11. But Lewis regained their momentum and pulled ahead even further to 19-12 after almost 7 consecutive scores and a kill by Hickey.
The remainder of the set saw many scores from both schools and Adelphi could not keep up with the lead Lewis had made. The set ended after another kill from Januski to win 25-20.
Set 3: Lewis 27, Adelphi 25
The beginning of the third set started out good for Adelphi and Lewis was down 4-1 1-4. But Lewis swung back hard and scored seven consecutive points scores and a kill by Buxton gave Lewis the lead at 8-4.
With some back and forth scoring, Adelphi had many scores in a row and managed to pull ahead of Lewis 13-12 12-13. Lewis hit back with four consecutive scores and a kill by Januski put the score at 16-13.
After more scoring from Lewis and Adelphi, The Flyers Lewis lost their lead at 21-20 20-21. Lewis continued on Adelhpi's tail to the point where they were tied 24-24. Adelphi even scored the first next point to reach 25-2424-25, however, Lewis would not let them score the last point they needed to win the set.
Lewis finally pulled ahead and scored three consecutive points. A final kill from Buxton won the set 27-25 and the game for the Flyers 3-0.
