ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The Lewis University women's soccer team lost 2-1 against William Jewell at Lewis Stadium on Friday (Sept. 27).

HALF BREAKDOWN
First Half: Lewis 1, William Jewell 0
The game started off strong with a shot by Hadzic looking for an early lead but it was saved. Lewis made it 1-0 in the 6' after a goal from Culver.
Abbie Delong (O'Fallon, Mo./Incarnate Word Academy) recorded another shot for Lewis looking to make it 2-0 in the 14' but it was out on top. Graziosi made many saves to prevent William Jewell from scoring after the Cardinals had shots on target in the 16' and 17'.
The period ended after more saves from Graziosi after William Jewell recorded more shots to keep the lead Lewis at 1-0 going into the break.
Second Half: William Jewell 2, Lewis 0
Moving into the second half, Graziosi saved against two more shots from William Jewell. Delong and Vargas looked to double the lead but the shots were off target.
Hadzic had another scoring chance after finding a space in the defense but none found the back of the net. In the 78', William Jewell was able to get past Graziosi and score to tie the contest at 1-1.
Graziosi made more saves however the Cardinals were still able to score in the last five minutes of the game to put themselves in the lead at 2-1.
