Flyers Fall to Drury in Friday Night Contest

Springfield, Mo. - The Lewis men's soccer team lost the first match of a two game Missouri road trip coming up a goal short against Drury.

Lewis is now 3-3-5 overall with a 2-3-2 conference record while Drury moves to 2-3-5 overall and 2-3-3 in the conference.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Panthers scored two goals in the first half, the first from Carson Morgan at the 6:59 mark with the second coming from the foot of Dane Post at 43:24.

The Flyers would control the ball for almost the entirety of the second half, upping the pressure trying to find their first goal. At 62:24 Mikey Revell (Largo, Maryland/Bishop McNamara) pulled in a pass from Noah Kawaguchi (Arlington Heights, Ill./John Hersey) and sent a shot into the net to bring the Flyers within one. Lewis was unable to find the equalizer and the match ended 2-1 Panthers.

Yoan Zagorov (Sofia, Bulgaria) started in net for the Flyers with one save and played the entire first half with Jeremiah Higgins (Chicago, Ill./Lane Tech) getting the full 45 for half number two. Drury's Camden Myer played a full 90 allowing one goal with five saves.

GAME NOTES
  • Revell and Roman Hernandez (Aurora, Ill./Aurora East) are now tied for goal leader on the Flyers(3).
  • Henrik Helgetun (Oslo, Norway/Korsvoll IL) got his first start playing 35 minutes.
  • Dating back to 2005, this game brings the all time record against Drury to 11-10-3
