Romeoville, Ill. – For the third consecutive year, the Lewis University men's cross country team captured the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship as they finished with 41 points.
Individually, junior
Evan Horgan (Loves Park, Ill./Belvidere North) won the race with a final time of 23:26.27, shattering the Lewis course record by 23 seconds. Head coach
James Kearney also took home hardware as he was named the 2025 GLVC Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year.
Senior
Zack Dunn (Merrilville, Ind./Merrilville) and junior
Jack Roberts (Frankfort, Ill./Lincolnway East) joined Horgan in the top 10 as Dunn placed fifth (24:17.40) and Roberts ninth (24:30.66). 10 seconds behind in 12
th place was junior
Gabriel Cates (Purcellville, Vir./Loudoun Valley) (24:40.38) while senior
Owen Thomas (Valparaiso, IN/Morgan Township) placed 14
th (24:48.69). All five runners earned All-GLVC honors with senior
Brendon Shea (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) collecting the honor as well with his 15th place finish (24:48.87).
