Lebanon, MO. – The Lewis Flyers came up short Sunday afternoon, falling 1-0 to McKendree in GLVC play at Leemon Field.

With the result, Lewis moved to 6-4-5 overall (5-4-3 GLVC) and will look to rebound in their next conference match up. McKendree shifted to 10-1-4 overall and (10-1-1 GLVC).

HOW IT HAPPENED
McKendree netted the game's only goal in the 54th minute, converting one of their six shots on target. Lewis stayed in contention throughout, recording 12 total shots and three on goal, but was unable to find the tying goal.

The Flyers controlled much of the possession in the second half, earning a 5-1 edge in corner kicks and applying steady offensive pressure. Goalkeeper Jillian Barth (Pleasanton, Calif./Foothill) made five saves to keep Lewis within reach, while the match's physical nature showed with 38 combined fouls.

MATCH NOTES

• McKendree now leads the all-time series 13-2-2 over Lewis.

• Jada Harvey (Roscoe, Ill./Rockford Christian) led Lewis with four total shots and two on goal, while Breanna Culver (Roscoe, Ill./Wisconsin-Milwaukee) added three shots and one on target.

The Flyers return to action Friday, October 31st against the University of Illinois Springfield. Kick-off is set for 5 p.m. at home.
