Romeoville, Ill. - Lewis University head men's lacrosse coach
Joe Perruzzi announced today that
Brendan Kearney will be promoted from assistant coach to associate head coach ahead of the 2026 campaign.
"Brendan has been critical to building Lewis men's lacrosse and developing our program into what it is today" Perruzzi said. "His commitment to our players and their development has been instrumental in our success as a program. He is a great coach and mentor but an even better role model for our student-athletes."
In his new role, Kearney will be more involved in managing the teams operating budget and alumni engagement. Kearney will also serve as the recruiting coordinator as well for the Flyers where he will be tasked with identifying and signing the newest Flyers.
With Kearney on the sideline, the Flyers have had some of the best defensive units in the midwest and across the country. During the 2025 campaign, Lewis was ranked a top-10 defense in the nation and the third-best clearing team across the country. Since 2023, he has also mentored a pair of All-Americans in
Riah Rathe (Chanhassen, Minnesota/Chanhassen HS) (2023/2024) and
Tyler Davis (Edina, Minnesota/Edina HS) (2024/2025) as well.
