Lewis Women's Basketball Falls to Northwood in Sunday Afternoon Matchup.

Midland, MI. - The Flyers loss their third game of the season against G-MAC opponent Northwood after scoring the most points they have all season. 
 
IMPACT PLAYERS
Northwood's Maeve St. John dropped 32 points against the Flyers with 3 rebounds and 1 assist, this is the most points allowed by Lewis from a single player all year. Lea Holmes was the second highest scorer on the Timberwolves with 18 total points. 

Mallory Ramage (Mattoon, IL/Loyola-Chicago) led in scoring for the Flyers with 23 with Yahaira Bueno (Bolingbrook, Ill./Bolingbrook) following behind her with 14. Off the bench Mercy Lasu (Winnipeg, Canada/D'Youville) offered 18 points with 8 rebounds. 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Flyers allowed at least 20 points in every quarter, with the third ending in a scoring draw with both teams putting down 20. Lewis held the first lead of the game thanks to an Ally Cesarini (La Grange, Ill./Lyons Township) layup, the first quarter was held close at a 15-15 draw but the Timberwolves pulled away to make it 23-19 at the end of the first. Northwood continued to pull away in the second ending the half up by 11 with a 48-37 score. 

Lewis started off slow in the third but eventually baskets by Jasmine Jones (Bolingbrook, IL/Bolingbrook), Lasu and Ramage would get the Flyers going midway through the third. The Flyers were then outscored 20-13 in the third quarter with the Timberwolves closing out the game 88-70. 

GAME NOTES
  • This is only the second loss all time to Northwood dating back to 2012, Lewis holds an all time record of 7-2 agaisnt the Timberwolves. 
  • Lasu sets her career high with 18 points, her previous record was 11 agianst Upper Iowa back on March 1st, 2025. She also sets her career high in rebounds and minutes. 
  • After four games there are three Flyers averaging in double figures, Bueno(13), Ramage (12) and Cesarini (11.3).
