Indianapolis, Ind. - After a pair of strong opening weekend performances,
Evan Horgan (Loves Park, Ill./Belvidere North) was tabbed the GLVC Indoor Track Athlete of the Week while
Levi Graham (Plainfield, Ill./Minooka) was named the GLVC Indoor Field Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday afternoon.
It is the first time Lewis has captured both weekly indoor awards on the men's side since Dec. 11, 2024 when Horgan and Graham each took home track and field honors, respectively.
For Horgan, he made history on the Boston University track, shattering the Lewis University all-time indoor 5K record with a stunning 13:44.23 at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener. His performance took down the previous school record of 13:45.50, which had stood for 29 years and was set by Charles Mulinga, an Olympian in the same year he established the mark.
As for Graham, he led the way by winning the weight throw with an NCAA-qualifying performance of 21.60m at the SVSU Holiday Open. His mark currently stands as the #1 mark in the nation as well.
The Flyers are back in action on Jan. 10 when they welcome Purdue Northwest to Romeoville.
