Romeoville, Ill. – After a successful first round of fundraising, the Lewis University Athletic Department is proud to announce Phase II of the Lewis Athletics Hall of Fame renovation project.
Thanks to many generous donations, the first phase of the renovation was a massive success. The first step of renovations (pictured below) will be completed by the new year, making it available for fans to view the next time they come to Neil Carey Arena. The renovations include new paint, plaque installations and new branding.
"Our Athletic Hall of Fame is more than just a display of past achievements—it's a tribute to the legacy of the former Flyers who have shaped our athletic program and an inspiration for future generations" said assistant vice president for athletics
John Ashaolu. "Renovating this space allows us to properly honor our history while creating an engaging experience that connects alumni, student-athletes, and fans to our tradition of excellence."
Now in Phase II, the new update will include the installation of interactive media to learn about members of Lewis Athletics' Hall of Fame. In addition, Flyer fans will be able to watch live games.
The goal for Phase II is to raise $25,000 to help complete the project. Lewis Athletics has already received generous donations Kevin and Jacqueline Newquist, Joseph and Kristen Falese, Clifton and Kathryn Kelly and Joel and Debra Stava to help with the project.
Donations of $200 or more are eligible to receive an authentic Neil Carey Arena Chair, while supplies last (pictured below).
