ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- The Lewis University men's basketball team recorded 100 points for the second time all season with a 100-70 victory against Maryville Saturday (Feb. 15).

GAME SUMMARY
Maryville jumped out to a 4-2 lead early before Lewis scored 10 unanswered, including back-to-back threes by Stroud and Renfro making the score 12-4. The Saints got back on track with an 8-2 run the next two minutes to pull within two at 14-12.
Cem Kirciman (Istanbul, Turkey/Wisconsin-Green Bay) hit a layup and Stroud knocked down a triple to extend it back to 19-12. Lewis led throughout the half, but the Saints were inching closer each time.
Sayles knocked down a clutch three-pointer off the pass from Renfro, making it 41-37 with 1:20 to go before the break. The Saints closed out the half with a jumper with five seconds remaining, making it 41-39 Lewis.
Renfro started the second half with a layup then Maryville knocked down a triple to make it a one-point contest early on. From that point on, Lewis had the upper hand in the game.
The Flyers proceeded to go on a 11-2 run in four minutes, extending its lead out to 63-48 with 12:03 remaining after Stroud converted on a three-point play and Sayles knocked down a triple. Maryville knocked down a three of their own until Lewis scored 11 straight points, making it 74-51 with nine minutes left.
Lewis kept building on its lead and holding on to a big advantage throughout the rest of the contest. The Flyers ended the contest with baskets from
Bartosz Kapustka (Krakow, Poland/Orchard Lake St. Mary's) and
Carson Brownfield (Flossmoor, IL/Homewood-Flossmoor High School) as well as a three-pointer by
Amir Whitlock (Plymouth, MN/Seward CC).
