GAME SUMMARY
Lewis never trailed in the game, scoring the first four points of the contest and increasing its lead from there. The Flyers jumped out to a 9-2 advantage midway through the first quarter and didn't let up defensively in the second part of the quarter as they led 16-4 after one. Seven different players scored for the Flyers in the opening period.
Five points from
Cierra McNamee (Moline, Ill./Illinois Central College) to open the second quarter built the lead to 21-4 before the Greyhounds scored again with eight minutes remaining in the half. The two teams combined to score four points over the final 5:25 of the half with each team scoring two points as the Flyers held the Greyhounds without a field goal the remainder of the half to lead 25-10.
Indianapolis matched its entire first half point total in the first four minutes of the second half as it cut the deficit to seven points at 27-20. That would be the closest the Greyhounds would get as Gugliuzza stopped the run with a basket and a three-pointer from Badali pushed the lead back into double digits at 32-20. The Flyers limited the Greyhounds to one field goal over the final six minutes to grow the lead back to 39-24 after three quarters.
Lewis built its lead to 20 points to open the fourth quarter on a three-pointer from Badali and another Gugliuzza basket. Indianapolis would get no closer than 15 points the rest of the game with the largest Lewis lead of 21 points at 48-27.
