GAME SUMMARY
FIRST QUARTER: Lewis 10, Thomas More 0
Lewis scored the first 10 goals of the contest, all in the first quarter, to force a running clock. The Flyers won the opening draw and then scored their first goal within 11 seconds as McKinnon found the back of the net.
Sweeney recorded back-to-back goals to extend the Lewis lead to 3-0.
Amelia Procyk (Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada/Dr. Charles Best Secondary School) made it 4-0 at the 9:57 mark in the opening period.
McKinnon scored back-to-back goals, making it 6-0 in favor of the Flyers.
Georgia Kodytek (White Bear Lake, Minn/White Bear Lake South) got in the scoresheet after finding the back of the net which made it 7-0.
Sweeney proceeded to score her third in the contest to extend it to 8-0.
Catherine Roney (Barrington, Ill./Saint Viator High School) went on to close out the final 73 seconds with two straight goals which made it 10-0 and force the running clock.
SECOND QUARTER: Lewis 3, Thomas More 2
Eliana Cappellini (Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada/Burnaby North Secondary School) recorded the first two goals of the second quarter to extend it even further at 12-0. Thomas More got on the scoreboard with a pair of goals of their own to make it 12-2 in favor of the Flyers.
Daniella Winterlik (Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada/Terry Fox) found an opening and hit the net for her first goal of the match with 1:44 before the half.
THIRD QUARTER: Lewis 4, Thomas More 0
Lewis was the lone team to score in the third after scoring all four goals. Procyk scored her second goal of the contest, making it 14-2.
Sweeney once again scored back-to-back goals for the Flyers extending its lead out to 16-2. Roney found the back of the net again for her second of the game to make it 17-2.
FOURTH QUARTER: Lewis 2, Thomas More 2
Both teams were even in the fourth with each team scoring a pair of goals. Winterlik went on to score her second for the first goal of the period making it 18-2 for Lewis' biggest lead of the day.
Thomas More was able to find the back of the net with 5:12 to play in the contest. Kodytek scored the last goal of the match for the Flyers after finding an opening with 2:02 to play.
The Saints scored the last goal of the game with 52 seconds left. Lewis proceeded to win the contest 19-4.
FINAL SCORE: Lewis 19, Thomas More 4
