ROMEOVILLE, Ill. -- The Lewis University women's lacrosse team came up one goal short as Findlay defeated the Flyers 11-10 Friday (Feb. 28).

GAME SUMMARY
FIRST QUARTER: Findlay 6, Lewis 1
Findlay scored the contest's first four goals, making it 4-0 Oilers.
Heidi Sweeney (New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada/New Westminster) got on the board for the Flyers after receiving a pass from
Catherine Roney (Barrington, Ill./Saint Viator High School).
The Oilers recorded the next pair of goals extending their lead out to 6-1.
SECOND QUARTER: Lewis 3, Findlay 3
Sweeney scored the first goal of the second quarter to make it 6-2 Findlay. The Oilers recorded the next pair of goals for a 8-2 advantage.
McKinnon picked up back-to-back goals, one unassisted and one from Procyk which made it 8-4. Findlay scored a goal in the closing seconds of the first half, giving the Oilers a 9-4 lead at the break.
THIRD QUARTER: Lewis 3, Findlay 1
Eliana Cappellini (Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada/Burnaby North Secondary School) recorded the first goal of the second half to trimmed the deficit down to 9-5. McKinnon cut it down to 9-6 after finding the back of the net off a pass from Roney.
Lewis cut it down even further after a goal from McKinnon. Findlay added to its lead with a goal to close out the period to make it 10-7.
FOURTH QUARTER: Lewis 3, Findlay 1
Findlay picked up the first goal of the fourth period to extend it to 11-7. Sweeney responded right back with her third goal of the contest trimming it down to 11-8.
Sweeney scored another goal for the next Lewis score making it an 11-9 contest with 11:14 to play. The Flyers made it a one score contest with 4:41 remaining.
That score would hold as Findlay won 11-10.
FINAL SCORE: Findlay 11, Lewis 10

Lewis will be back in action Wednesday, March 5 as the Flyers host Davis & Elkins College starting at 7 p.m. CT.
