GAFFNEY, SC - The No. 13 Lewis University men's lacrosse team recorded their first loss of the season on Sunday against #4 Limestone University.

GAME SUMMARY
FIRST QUARTER: Lewis 4, Limestone 2
After a ground ball pickup and a clear from the Flyers a shot from the left wing by Hayes found the back of the net to make it a 1-0 game. The next few minutes was a battle in the midfield with both teams. Eventually a scoreless run was broken up by the Flyers with a shot from Good off of the assist from Michael Metheny (Fishers, Indiana/Hamilton Southeastern HS).
Limestone put a ball in the back of the net roughly halfway through the quarter. With a little over five minutes remaining in the quarter Jackson Marindin (White Hall, Maryland/The John Carroll School) tossed over the ball to Good who would bury a shot to go up 3-1. Not long after, Schroeder moved to the left wing and put one past the Limestone goalkeeper with four minutes remaining.
SECOND QUARTER: Limestone 5, Lewis 1
Limestone would hammer home five goals in the second quarter taking the lead from the Flyers. The only Flyer goal in the second would come from Good off of an assist from Metheny to make it a 6-5 game in favor of Limestone.
THIRD QUARTER: Limestone 4, Lewis 2
Lewis started off the second half quickly scoring in the first 31 seconds with Hayes putting in a shot from in the circle with the assist from
Dominic Bravata (Portage, Michigan/Portage Northern HS). Limestone would put 3 goals past Lewis in response putting the Flyers down by four.
Paul Ruskoski (Tulsa, Oklahoma/Bishop Kelley HS) from the circle would provide some relief for Lewis making it a three goal game once again with the goal. Lewis would give up one more goal before the end of the quarter putting themselves down by four.
FOURTH QUARTER: Limestone 8, Lewis 1
Limestone would score eight straight goals throughout the fourth quarter with Lewis struggling to get the offense going.
Trevor Collier (Millersville, Maryland/Old Mill HS) would get a goal with 40 seconds remaining and with the final face off Lewis would get off one more shot but the final buzzer would sound.
FINAL SCORE: Limestone 19, Lewis 8
