ROMEOVILLE, Ill. -- The Lewis University men's lacrosse team defeated Davenport 20-6 at Lewis Stadium Saturday (March 15). This win marked the 50th victory in program history for Lewis Men's Lacrosse.

GAME SUMMARY
FIRST QUARTER: Lewis 5, Davenport 0
Lewis scored the only goals in the first quarter, netting five times in the opening period. Good found
Paul Ruskoski (Tulsa, Oklahoma/Bishop Kelley HS) for the first goal of the contest, giving Lewis an early 1-0 lead.
McCann added the next tally for Lewis, extending the Flyers lead to 2-0.
Tyler Davis (Edina, Minnesota/Edina HS) set up Good for his first out of seven goals of the match, giving Lewis a 3-0 advantage.
Schroeder scored his first goal of the contest pushing the lead to 4-0. He then found Good in the closing seconds of the period for a 5-0 advantage.
SECOND QUARTER: Lewis 5, Davenport 2
Lewis opened up the scoring in the second quarter when Schroeder found
Camden Rappis (Delafield, Wisconsin/Kettle Moraine HS) with a man-up at the 12:45 mark, extending the Flyers lead to 6-0. Davenport scored its first goal of the contest with 9:45 remaining in the first half.
The Flyers followed up with four straight goals, boosting their a 10-1 lead.
Xan Hayes (Leonardtown, Maryland/Leonardtown HS) assisted Good for the hat trick as the sophomore netted his third goal of the game, making it 7-1.
Nolan Dalep (Victoria, British Columbia, Canada/Claremont Secondary School) fed the ball to
Kevin Blaz (McHenry, Illinois/Marian Central Catholic HS) for the score, giving the Flyers an 8-1 advantage with 4:38 to go in the half.
Trevor Collier (Millersville, Maryland/Old Mill HS) found
Jackson Marindin (White Hall, Maryland/The John Carroll School) for a score, making it 9-1.
Schroeder recorded another assist after locating Good again for the goal bringing Lewis a 10-1 lead with 1:13 remaining. Davenport managed to score the final goal of the first half after scoring with 39 seconds left, to make it 10-2 Flyers.
THIRD QUARTER: Lewis 3, Davenport 3
Davenport scored the first three goals of the second half to cut into the deficit at 10-5 in favor of Lewis. The Flyers then responded by scoring the next three goals for the response.
Good recorded the next pair of goals for his fifth and sixth scores of the contest, one coming from a pass by
Logan Suchy (Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota/Simley HS) and the other from
Michael Metheny (Fishers, Indiana/Hamilton Southeastern HS) after Lewis gained the advantage on the field. Good found the open man on offense for the next score after locating McCann and giving Lewis a 13-5 advantage.
FOURTH QUARTER: Lewis 7, Davenport 1
Lewis scored the first five goals of the fourth, marking eight unanswered goals for the Flyers. Tarello scored the first goal of the fourth after winning the face-off, he took it all the way for the score, making it 14-5.
Zach Buddelmeyer (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro HS) found Dalep as he hit the back of the net, giving the Flyers a 15-5 advantage. Davis assisted Good for his seventh goal of the contest, extending Lewis a 16-5 lead.
McCann and
Trevor Collier (Millersville, Maryland/Old Mill HS) took the ball themselves for the next two goals, pushing the lead to 18-5 in favor of Lewis. The Panthers scored their final goal of the game, making it 18-6 in favor the Flyers.
Lewis scored the final pair of goals of the contest. Collier found Marindin with 1:28 remaining in the game, making it 19-6 then Good fed it inside to Ruskoski with 43 seconds left, bringing the score to 20-6, which would hold.
FINAL SCORE: Lewis 20, Davenport 6
