LIBERTY, Mo. -- The Lewis University softball team allowed no runs against GLVC opponent William Jewell on Saturday starting off conference play 2-0.
GAME 1: Lewis 9, William Jewell 0 (5 Innings)

SUMMARY
The Flyers went scoreless in the first two innings but backed it up with solid defense which would carry throughout the day.
Finally in the third inning, Sheehan would start off as a base runner after being hit by pitch. Garden would single down the left field line and advanced on the throw.
With Garden on second, Sheehan on third, Graham walked to load the bases for Frafjord. Frafjord would then hammer a ball to left field giving the Flyers a 4-0 lead after the grand slam.
Hoffman would start the fourth inning with a triple and was brought home the next at bat by a Jensen single to right.
Garden would be hit by pitch to start the fifth and move to second after a Magdziasz bunt. Garden would score on a throwing error created after a Graham single to right.
Frafjord added another RBI to her stat sheet with a single to center to bring Magdziasz home. Poortenga, Hoffman and Jensen would all reach base in the fifth, with Hoffman and Jensen scoring on a Sheehan single up the middle.
The Flyers ride out the rest of the fifth inning and would win via run rule.

SUMMARY
Garden started game number two with a triple to right field then she crossed home plate two batters later thanks to a Graham single to left.
A similar situation in the third saw Garden lead off with a hit, she advanced to second on a throwing error by the William Jewell shortstop. She advanced to third on a Magdziasz ground out and eventually tag up on a Graham sac-fly to center.
That would conclude the scoring for Lewis on the day but game two was highlighted by the pitching performance by
Allie Wondrasek (New Lenox, IL/Lincoln-Way West High School), who pitched all seven innings allowing two hits and one walk while fanning nine William Jewell batters, this marks her seventh win of the season.
