Lewis Women's Lacrosse Drops Contest to Dominican Tuesday

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. -- The Lewis University women's lacrosse took on Dominican (Calif.) Tuesday (March 18) on the road and fell 11-5.

GAME SUMMARY
FIRST QUARTER: Lewis 1, Dominican 0
Lewis scored the lone goal in the first quarter for both teams. Eliana Cappellini (Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada/Burnaby North Secondary School) found Roney for the score with 3:13 to play in the period. 
 
SECOND QUARTER: Dominican 3, Lewis 2
Lewis added to their lead with the first two goals in the second quarter, extending it to 3-0. Procyk found Ravyn Jimenez (Navarre, FL/Navarre High School) in the opening minute of the quarter, making it 2-0. 
 
Midway through the quarter, Procyk passed it into McKinnon for the score, extending the Lewis lead to 3-0. The Penguins closed out the final 2:04 of the first half with three unanswered goals to go into the locker rooms tied 3-3.
 
THIRD QUARTER: Dominican 2, Lewis 1
Dominican began the second half with the first goal to grab their first lead of the match at 4-3. 45 seconds later, McKinnon found the back of the net while having the player advantage on the field.
 
The Penguins regained a 5-4 lead with a score at 4:11 remaining in the quarter.
 
FOURTH QUARTER: Dominican 4, Lewis 1
Dominican built on their lead in the fourth quarter as the Penguins scored the first two goals, extending their lead out to 7-4. Lewis got one back at the 8:20 mark after McKinnon recorded a goal.
 
The Penguins scored four straight goals the rest of the match, securing an 11-5 victory Tuesday,.

FINAL SCORE: Dominican 11, Lewis 5
