The Flyers began the top of the first inning by scoring three runs with RBI singles by Jason Krol (Chicago, Ill./St. Laurence) and Cain Headrick (Custer Park, Ill./Providence Catholic) while a walk by Cole Nelson (St. Charles, Ill/Lenoir Rhyne) drove in final run to go up 3-0. After starting pitcher Dylan Wolff (Joliet, Ill.) recorded back-to-back strikeouts to end the bottom of the first, George Bilecki (Chicago, Ill./Marist) and Chris McDevitt (Chicago, Ill./St. Rita) both scored for the Flyers on an error, extending the lead to 5-0 in the top of the second.

Lewis was not finished adding in the top of the third inning either as Tyler Phommachanhom (Plainfield, Ill/Parkland CC) singled through the left side for an RBI while Mikey Kocen (Beach Park, Ill./UNC-Pembroke) contributed a sacrifice fly later in the inning to make it 7-0. The Flyers generated six runs on four hits in the top of the fourth inning to go up 13-0 while Wolff navigated his way out of a jam in the bottom half, stranding three on base.
