CRESTWOOD, Ill. - The Lewis University baseball team dropped a non-conference contest to Roosevelt 3-1 at Ozinga Field Tuesday (March 25).

SUMMARY
Lewis had a scoring chance in the first inning after having two runners on but was unable to capitalize.
The Flyers managed to score in the second inning for a 1-0 lead.
John Henry Russell (Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South) singled,
Kyle Peterson (Orland Park, Ill/Carl Sandburg) reached on catcher's interference and
Chris McDevitt (Chicago, Ill./St. Rita) ripped an RBI double down the right field line, scoring Russell.
Roosevelt responded in the bottom half with a run of their own, tying the contest at 1-1. Both teams were held off the scoreboard in the third, fourth, fifth and sixth innings, keeping the score tied 1-1.
The Lakers broke through in the seventh inning with a pair of runs, giving Roosevelt a 3-1 advantage. Lewis was unable to rally after recording a one-out double in the top of the ninth by
Cain Headrick (Custer Park, Ill./Providence Catholic).
Ray Cantelo (Blue Island, Ill./Marian Catholic),
Anthony Sorrentino (Burr Ridge, Ill./Lyons Township),
Dominic Coda (Joliet, Ill/Joliet Catholic),
Seth Nanna (Carmel, Ind/Westfield) and
Daniel Rosado (Burbank, Ill.) all pitched scoreless innings in relief for the Flyers.
