UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. -- The Lewis University women's lacrosse bounced back with a 24-2 victory Friday (March 28) against Saginaw Valley State.

GAME SUMMARY
FIRST QUARTER: Lewis 10, Saginaw Valley 1
Lewis scored the first five goals of the contest for a 5-0 advantage. Catherine Roney (Barrington, Ill./Saint Viator High School) found Sweeney in the opening two minutes for a 1-0 lead.
Procyk located Sweeney for her second straight for a 2-0 lead. Eliana Cappellini (Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada/Burnaby North Secondary School) extended it to 3-0 23 seconds later after taking it herself.
15 seconds later, Cappellini found Jade McKinnon (Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada/Dr. Charles Best Secondary School) for a 4-0 lead. McKinnon scored her second consecutive goal making it 5-0.
Saginaw Valley State got on the scoreboard after finding the back of the net. Lewis scored five in a row again for a 10-1 advantage.
Sweeney scored four straight goals extending the lead out to 9-1. Roney scored the final goal of the period after finding the back of the cage with 1:05 remaining.
SECOND QUARTER: Lewis 8, Saginaw Valley State 0
Lewis scored the only goals in the second quarter with eight scores. Roney found the back of the net in the opening 30 seconds of the second period.
Ravyn Jimenez (Navarre, FL/Navarre High School) got on the stat sheet after scoring a pair of goals making it 14-1. McKinnon took it herself for the score and extended the lead.
Devyn Hartley (Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada/Dr. Charles Best Secondary School) and Jimenez scored goals to close out the first half, giving Lewis 18-1 advantage going into the halftime break.
THIRD QUARTER: Lewis 5, Saginaw Valley State 0
Lewis scored the only five goals in the third quarter for the only scoring of the period. Cappellini scored in the opening minute off the pass from Winterlik of the second half for a 19-1 lead.
McKinnon and Cappelini for the next pair of goals, extending the lead to 21-1 in favor the Flyers. Georgia Kodytek (White Bear Lake, Minn/White Bear Lake South) and Procyk closed out the period, making it 23-1 at the end of the third quarter.
FOURTH QUARTER: Lewis 1, Saginaw Valley State 1
Kodytek scored the last goal for the Flyers at the end of 13:05 mark of the fourth, making it 24-1. Saginaw Valley State scored the final goal of the contest with five seconds left in the game making it 24-2.
FINAL SCORE: Lewis 24, Saginaw Valley State 2
