No. 8 Lewis Men's Lacrosse Drops Top 10 Battle Against No. 4 Seton Hill

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - The No. 8 Lewis University men's lacrosse team fell to No. 4 Seton Hill 17-9 Saturday (March 29) at Lewis Stadium.

SUMMARY
FIRST QUARTER: Lewis 4, Seton Hill 2
Xan Hayes (Leonardtown, Maryland/Leonardtown HS) opened the scoring with a goal just over two minutes in. Schroeder made it 2-0 less than 30 seconds later on a pass from Nolan Dalep (Victoria, British Columbia, Canada/Claremont Secondary School). The Griffins got on the board at the 8:22 mark of the first quarter to make it 2-1.

Lewis scored the next two goals on shots from Suchy and Kendrick to make it 4-1. Seton Hill scored with four seconds left in the quarter to make it 4-2 after one.

SECOND QUARTER: Seton Hill 4, Lewis 2
Seton Hill made it two goals in a row with the first of the second quarter.Trevor Collier (Millersville, Maryland/Old Mill HS) answered for the Flyers, but the Griffins came back with three straight goals to take a 6-5 lead. Collier evened the score at 6-6 at the half with a goal in the final minute.

THIRD QUARTER: Seton Hill 6, Lewis 2
The teams traded goals to open the second half as the Griffins scored at the 12:06 mark and the Flyers evened the score less than a minute later on a goal from Metheny

Seton Hill scored the next two goals, but Schroeder answered to get the Flyers back to within one at 9-8. The Griffins scored the final three goals of the quarter to take a 12-8 lead going into the fourth quarter.

FOURTH QUARTER: Seton Hill 5, Lewis 1
The Griffins scored at the 14:17 mark of the quarter, but Schroeder was able to answer less than 20 seconds later to make it 13-9. However, that would be the last goal for the Flyers as the Griffins scored the final four goals of the contest.
