Lewis Women's Lacrosse Falls to #5 Maryville Friday

ROMEOVILLE, Ill.  -- The Lewis University women's lacrosse lost to No. 5 Maryville 27-3 Friday (April 11).

GAME SUMMARY
FIRST QUARTER: Maryville 10, Lewis 0
Maryville scored the only goals of the first period as the Saints recorded 10 straight to open the contest.
 
SECOND QUARTER: Maryville 5, Lewis 1
The Saints scored the first five goals of the second quarter to take a 15-0 lead Lewis got on the scoreboard after Cappellini found Roney for her 19th goal of the season.
 
THIRD QUARTER: Maryville 4, Lewis 2
Jimenez started the scoring in the second half with her eighth goal of the contest after Roney passed it to her for the score. Maryville responded with four goals for a 19-2 lead. 
 
McKinnon scored the next goal for the Flyers marking her 27th of the season, making it 19-3 Maryville. 
 
FOURTH QUARTER: Maryville 8, Lewis 0
Maryville scored all eight goals in the fourth quarter, giving the Saints a 27-3 lead. That score would hold up with Maryville on top.

FINAL SCORE: No. 5 Maryville 27, Lewis 3

Lewis will be back in action Sunday, April 13 as the Flyers travel to Lebanon, Illinois to take on McKendree starting at noon CT.
